Each learner keeps one topic through weeks 2–3 so it actually sinks in — then everything opens up in week 4.
Greetings, self-introductions, and basic phrases together as a group. The mentor hands each of the 10 learners one real-life topic — restaurant, shopping, pharmacy, doctor, bus, workplace, phone calls, directions, bank, or hobbies. Your private Facebook group opens here too, for prepping between sessions.
Each of the 10 learners speaks their topic for 5 minutes, in its most everyday, common form.
Open group conversation, plus the mentor introduces shared sentence models everyone can use.
Same learner, same topic — now with a twist: something's out of stock, the bus is wrong, the appointment needs changing.
Group conversation plus troubleshooting phrases for when things don't go to plan.
A full review of all 10 topics, with learners swapping topics for one more live roleplay outside their own. By the end, every learner has actively spoken more than one topic — and picked up the rest from the group chat along the way. Every graduate receives the Surfi Bronze Speaking Passport, an online PDF certificate.
Sessions run weekly on Google Meet or Teams — your mentor decides the platform. Between sessions, your private Facebook group is where the week's topics get discussed and prepped.
